How the arrivals pickup works
We track your flight in real time using the number given at booking. If you land early, your driver is early. If you are delayed, you do not need to message anyone — the pickup time adjusts on its own.
Your driver waits in the arrivals hall holding your name, helps with luggage and walks you to the car. On international arrivals, immigration and customs time is already accounted for: the car is not released until you come through.
From Galeão to the main destinations
Approximate distances and driving times from Terminal 2:
- Downtown and Santos Dumont Airport — around 20 km, 25 to 40 minutes
- Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon — around 30 km, 40 to 60 minutes
- Barra da Tijuca and São Conrado — around 45 km, 50 to 75 minutes
- Niterói — around 25 km, across the Rio–Niterói Bridge
Times vary considerably by hour of day. Arrivals between 6–9 am and 4–8 pm hit traffic on both access roads — the Linha Vermelha and the Linha Amarela. The route is chosen on the day by your driver, who checks conditions before leaving for the airport.
Which vehicle to book
The right category depends less on taste and more on how many checked bags you are travelling with:
- Executive sedan (Toyota Corolla, Ford Fusion) — up to 3 passengers with carry-on, or 2 with checked luggage
- SUV (Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass) — larger boot, the right call for bulky luggage
